What does the Singaporean hawker dish char kway teow have to do with philanthropy? Read this visual novel to find out!

Generations of Giving is inspired by a family’s history of giving. The story begins with Koh Choon Joo, or CJ, who is shipped to Wales for his education at the tender age of six.

After qualifying as a lawyer in Britain, CJ starts his law practice in Singapore and meets his mentor, Sir Song Ong Siang – a lawyer, community leader and advocate of education for all, including women and girls. Sir Song’s influence leaves an indelible mark on CJ’s life and values.

CJ marries the love of his life, Pradap Kow, a teacher. After Pradap dies, CJ faces a lonely life. Thankfully, he meets Ong Tiong Tat, a big-hearted stock trader, at a food centre they both frequented for char kway teow. The two hit it off and become best friends, despite a 38-year age gap.

When CJ becomes bedridden after a stroke, Tiong Tat moves into CJ’s house and cares for him selflessly. And that’s when Tiong Tat gets to know and falls in love with Irene Tan, another kind and generous soul.

For his 96th birthday, CJ makes various gifts to schools, educational institutions, women’s charities, children’s homes and nursing homes to help uplift the lives of the underprivileged. These donations initiate a legacy of giving that is passed to Tiong Tat, Irene and HH Tan, Irene’s nephew who is carrying on the legacy today.

In this visual novel, you will make choices that drive the story forward. Expect heartwarming friendships, family ties and beautiful romances. Not to mention engaging mini games that level up the fun. And be moved by a spirit of giving that will inspire you to begin your own journey of kindness.
